Free Range is a show that intertwines the roots of soul with contemporary and soul-influenced music. On my show, I explore everything from covers to sampled songs, new and old. The creative process of artists is a really interesting concept to me. I came up with the idea for this show because it serves as the perfect creative outlet for picking apart the pieces and telling the stories behind some of my favorite music. I plan to run my show this semester with a focus on sampling and artist influence. This semester, I hope to focus a lot of my show preparation on researching the processes and techniques of some of my favorite artists. Join me: Saturdays at 6pm on 99.1 WIUX.
